ND is looking out for ND.

So what side do they fall down on when the Alliance uses Cunningham's 8 team playoff model (5 P5, 1 G5, 2 at lg)?

I know ND being independent is the be all and end all but don't you think your best way to the playoffs is thru a conference championship? If you lose 2 regular season games now then bye bye CFP. In a conference you could still lose 2 games and manage to win the league and go to the CFP. With conferences playing 8 games that gives you plenty of room to maintain your national schedule.

You or Terry have told me that if a conference championship were required to get to the playoff ND would join the ACC in a New York minute. While I realize I don't know all the money angles independence gets you, it just seems like it is just being independent for independence sake. I will say that as long as college football leadership allows you conference like status on playoff committees and such then I can see why you just go on your merry way. With the Alliance those perks may go away.

Appreciate you guys hanging in here on this board and taking all the stuff that is thrown your way. I respect that immensely.
